Thirsty Thursday - Blueberry Mint Fizz

It's finally Thirsty Thursday, and the week is almost over!  I must brag though, as today is my Friday!  I'm heading to Orlando this afternoon to spend a long weekend with my sister!

Today we are featuring the Blueberry Mint Fizz - I just love the colors, and the navy and green motif is perfect for Preppy & Co.'s first round of Thirsty Thursday!  This recipe comes from Waiting On Martha, a blogger that I am currently obsessed with!

Here is Waiting on Martha's recipe:

"Smirnoff Blueberry Vodka

St. Germaine Liquor (or Agave syrup) if you’re not going to use our the fruit filled ice cubes
Club Soda
Mint Leaves
Blueberries
White grape juice (for the ice cubes)

Place 5-8 mint leaves in the bottom of your shaker and muddle.  Add regular ice (not the fancy fruit ice), 1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Blueberry Vodka 2 1/2 oz Club Soda shake, shake, shake.  Pour over fancy fruit ice and enjoy.  If you are not using the fancy fruit ice (how to below) then you may want to add agave or St. Germain liquor to add a touch of sweetness.  Also for a more intense blueberry flavor add a 5 or so fresh blueberries to the bottom of your shaker along with the mint and muddle.

For the fancy fruit ice cubes...
lace blueberry and mint leaves into ice cube molds.  2-3 blueberries and mint leaves per cube.  Mix equal parts white grape juice to water and pour into molds filling them all the way to the top.  Freeze overnight.  **You can do this with any fruit or herb, just be careful as some fruits tend to bleed turning your whole cube colored if they’re too ripe.  This happened to me with raspberries**"

A cocktail wouldn't be a cocktail without the perfect glass, right?  Preppy & Co. has a huge selection of monogrammed glassware, and our Mojito Cocktail Glass is just the right size for so many cocktails!  This set of 4 glasses makes a great gift at just $50.  Pair it with a bottle of Smirnoff Blueberry Vodka and a recipe to add a personal touch!

If you really want to do it right, add a striped straw from For Your Party.  We adore this website for all of our printed napkins and party supplies!!

Roll Out the Red Carpet

I'm not really one for awards shows, but I do love a great Red Carpet!  This weekend's Emmy Awards didn't disappoint!  Here are some of my favorite preppy looks, and a few misses too!

If there was ever a question of whether purple was the "It" color for the season, Carrie Underwood and Alyson Hannigan answered it for us!  I am so not a purple girl, but I may need to give it a try this fall!

I love lace!  Christina Hendricks looked gorgeous in a black lace peplum dress.  Unfortunately, not everyone can wear lace...Lena Headey missed the memo that you need to wear more than just undergarments with lace!

I also wasn't a fan of Julianne Hough's dress.  I love some sheer lace, but this is just too much for me!

Kaley Cuoco is one that knows how to wear sheer fabric!  This look is modern yet modest!

Like many Southern girls, I am a huge fan of COLOR!  Jessica Pare scored with this turquoise gem!  The bow on the front and a train are right up my ally!

Speaking of bows, how adorable are Julie Bowen's shoulder bows?  The mermaid silhouette is classic, and I'm a sucker for ruffles too!

Zooey Deschanel was stunning in grey.  I love that neckline and the bow!  Where can I get one?

I just have one more comment...Melissa Leo and Zosia Mamet, did you even look in the mirror before you left the house?  And you still wore it?  Major fail!

Rain, Rain Go Away

After a rainy weekend, we thought it was appropriate to post some rainy day fashion!

I tend to dress simple when it rains.  You'll often find me in a simple white tee and skinny jeans on the weekend.  I love pulling out my monogrammed wellies on rainy days.  They are super comfortable and have a soft knit lining that keep my toes warm and dry in any weather.  The embroidered monogram adds a special touch that I love!

We just got these new monogrammed infinity scarves at Preppy & Co. and I am wearing them with EVERYTHING!  They are the perfect weight for these cool fall days, and in 10 colors to choose from, we bet you can't get just one!  I accessorized with a new personalized watch from The Preppy Ladybug, and simple sterling silver earrings with a single initial.  These round earrings are easy to wear everyday, and make a great gift at only $29!

On the other wrist, try a needlepoint bracelet for a classic, modern look.  With more than 50 styles and motifs available, monogrammed or not, you'll find one to go with every outfit!  We especially love that each one is handmade to order, and you can change colors on any of the designs.  They take 4-6 weeks to make, but are definitely worth it!

Finally, as I head out the door, I grab a monogrammed umbrella with a clear bubble top.  If you walk outside to go to work, or have another reason to be outside in the rain, you'll love this!  The top is deep enough to cover your whole head, and you can see through it!  No more wet hair in the office!

Find all of these accessories and more at Preppy & Co., your destination for monogrammed gifts!

Not your Boyfriend's Watch

I am so excited to announce that we now have the popular Boyfriend Watch from The Preppy Ladybug!  I've seen these watches popping up all over the internet and in boutiques here in Atlanta, and now you can find them right here at Preppy & Co.!

Our personalized watches have a large, oversized face measuring 1.2 inches, and chunky stainless steel bands.  It may look a lot like your boyfriend's watch, but don't be fooled, these monogrammed watches are just for the ladies!

I have not worn a watch in years...why would I?  Isn't that what my cell phone is for?  But recently I have been seeing so many girls wearing these large, oversized watches that really make a statement, and I wanted one!  What better chance to give it a try?  Watches are really expensive, and at just $58, these quartz watches are a great deal!  The watch movement is even powered by Citizen, and they come in a cute box for easy gifting!

Now that I am wearing one of these monogrammed watches, I can't get enough!  Since it is in my favorite colors, it goes with all of my favorite outfits!  I can dress it up with with a cute dress and lots of bangles, or I can dress it down with jeans and simple jewelry.  Get yours now in your sorority colors, college colors, or just your favorite!  You can put a monogram, a name, or even a phrase that you'll see every time you look at your wrist!  What personalized watch will you choose?
